Aaron is one of the most sought after accompanists on the traditional music scene today. As well as Old Blind Dogs, Aaron has toured worldwide and recorded with many of the biggest names in traditional music, including Kate Rusby, Téada (with Séamus Begley), Battlefield Band, Tannahill Weavers, Siobhan Miller, Emily Smith, Robyn Stapleton and many, many more.
Aaron has produced several critically acclaimed albums and contributes to music for TV with recent projects including ‘Sanditon’ by Jane Austen for ITV/PBS and the forthcoming BBC drama ‘Bloodlands’ featuring James Nesbitt. Along with twin brother Nathon and his charitable organisation the Tradmusic Trust they recently opened The Vault Arts Centre in their home town, a multi-arts centre for the local community and performance venue. As well as running regular live events and providing music tuition there, The Vault is also the hub for the annual Newton Stewart and Minnigaff Traditional Music and Dance Festival.
As well as being an official accompanist for the BBC Young Traditional Scottish Musician of the Year Awards for ten years, Aaron was voted 'Instrumentalist of the Year' in a public vote at the 2005 Scots Trad Music Awards. He is a passionate member of the UK Musicians Union, a committed Evertonian and a very proud Dad.
